What data is collected?
When you visit the website, information is automatically collected from the accessing computer (hereinafter referred to as „access data“). This access data includes server log files, which typically consist of information about the browser type (version, operating system), internet provider, date/time, and the IP address of the accessing computer. Only the IP address can be personally identifiable if it is permanently assigned and the internet provider has linked it to an individual.
Some features require you to provide us with data (e.g., a contact form). In such cases, the data will be used to process the respective request.
What cookies are used?
Cookies are used on the website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer when you visit a website. The stored cookies are linked to the browser you are using. When the corresponding website is accessed again, the web browser sends the content of the cookies back, enabling the user to be recognized.
Certain cookies are deleted when you log out or end your browser session (so-called „transient cookies“). Other cookies are stored for a predefined period or permanently (so-called „temporary cookies“ or „persistent cookies“). These cookies are automatically deleted after a defined time. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser’s security settings and configure the use of cookies according to your preferences. However, BABOR points out that you may not be able to use all functions of the website in this case.
Cookies are generally an online identifier without a personal reference. Cookies only become personally identifiable when the information generated by the cookies is combined with other data. Cookies can be distinguished between those necessary for providing the website and those required for additional purposes such as audience measurement, web analytics, and market research.
Cookies necessary for providing the website include:
- Cookies used for user identification or authentication
- Cookies that temporarily store certain user inputs (e.g., shopping cart contents or online form inputs)
- Cookies that save specific user preferences (e.g., search or language settings)
- Cookies that store data to ensure uninterrupted playback of video or audio content
Cookies necessary for additional purposes include:
Analytics cookies to record and statistically evaluate user behavior on our website (e.g., visited subpages or search queries).
Our website uses a web service from Usercentrics A/S, Havnegade 39, 1058 Copenhagen, Denmark (hereinafter referred to as „cookiebot.com“). We use this data to legally consider your cookie preferences. In this context, your browser may transmit personal data to cookiebot.com. The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the legally compliant implementation of cookies based on the visitor’s selection. Data is deleted once the purpose of its collection is fulfilled. For more information on how cookiebot.com handles transmitted data, please refer to their privacy policy: https://www.cookiebot.com/en/privacy-policy/.

We use the following cookies with your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR. You can also access the website without these cookies if you do not consent.
Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
We use the web analytics service of Google Inc. („Google“) to analyze the use of the website: Google Analytics. A cookie is set for this purpose. The information generated by this cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) is transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA.
This website uses Google Analytics exclusively with the extension of IP anonymization, so IP addresses are only processed in a truncated form to exclude direct personal reference. Through IP anonymization on this website, your IP address is shortened by Google within member states of the EU or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to website and internet usage. By giving consent, you agree to the processing of your data by Google in the manner and for the purposes described above.
Google may transfer this information to third parties if required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google.
For more information about Google Analytics‘ security and privacy principles, visit: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
Opt-out option: You can object to the collection and storage of data by Google Analytics at any time with effect for the future. You can install a browser plugin provided by Google for this purpose. It is available for various browser versions and can be downloaded here:

You can prevent participation in this tracking process in various ways:
- By changing the cookie settings: Select „Privacy Settings“ under „Services“ in the footer of each page on this website
- By adjusting your browser settings, particularly by suppressing third-party cookies, which prevents third-party ads
- By disabling cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain „www.googleadservices.com“ (https://www.google.com/settings/ads)—note that this setting will be deleted if you delete your cookies
- By permanently disabling it in your browsers (Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Google Chrome) via the link https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin
Please note that in this case, you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent.
What do we use your data for?
Functionality of the website
To ensure the functionality of the website, conduct security analyses, and prevent attacks, server log files are automatically collected and temporarily stored by the accessing computer’s system when visiting and using the website. These server log files are not stored together with other data. BABOR uses these files for statistical evaluations to analyze and resolve technical issues, prevent attacks or fraud attempts, and optimize the website’s functionality.
The legal basis for collecting server log files is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The functionality of the website, security analyses, and threat prevention are legitimate interests of BABOR.
Server log files are stored on the web server after the website is accessed, and the contained IP address is deleted after 7 days at the latest. Evaluations during this storage period occur only in the event of an attack.
Contact form / E-mail and phone contact
The website allows you to contact BABOR via a contact form, e-mail address, or phone number. If you use this option, the data entered in the contact form, your e-mail address, and/or your phone number, as well as your inquiry, will be transmitted to BABOR. Depending on the inquiry (e.g., questions about products or services, exercising your rights as a data subject), your contact data may be shared or processed with service providers or partner companies.
The legal basis for processing your contact data is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. Processing your inquiry and the associated communication is in BABOR’s legitimate interest. If your inquiry aims to conclude a contract with BABOR, the legal basis for processing your contact data is Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR.
After processing your inquiry and concluding further communication, the contact data will be deleted. Exceptions apply if your inquiry aims to conclude a contract with BABOR or you assert your rights as a data subject (e.g., right to information). In such cases, the data will be stored until contractual and/or legal obligations are fulfilled, and legal retention periods (currently 6 to 10 years) do not oppose deletion.
What rights do you have regarding your data?
You have the right to access the personal data we have stored about you. If the data about you is incorrect or outdated, you have the right to request its correction. You also have the right to request the deletion or restriction of the processing of your data in accordance with Art. 17 or Art. 18 GDPR. Furthermore, you have the right to receive the data you have provided in a commonly used and machine-readable format (right to data portability).
If you have given consent for the processing of personal data for specific purposes, you can withdraw this consent at any time with future effect. The withdrawal should be directed to BABOR at the contact address provided above.
In accordance with Art. 21 GDPR, you also have the right to object to the processing of your data for reasons arising from your particular situation at any time, provided the processing is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. You also have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes. This also applies to automated procedures involving individual cookies, provided these are not strictly necessary for providing the website.
Additionally, you have the option to contact a data protection authority and file a complaint. The data protection authority responsible for BABOR is:
Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia
Kavalleriestr. 2-4
40213 Düsseldorf
Phone: 0211/38424-0
Fax: 0211/38424-10
E-mail: [email protected]
You can also contact the data protection authority responsible for your place of residence.
Will my data be shared?
Within the BABOR corporate group, only those departments that need your data to fulfill the stated purposes (e.g., contact inquiries) will have access to it. Service providers engaged by BABOR may also have access to your data (so-called „processors,“ e.g., data centers, newsletter distribution, web tracking). Contracts for data processing ensure these service providers handle your data confidentially, securely, and under strict instructions.
Data is not shared with other recipients, such as advertising partners, social media providers, or financial institutions (so-called „third parties“).
Service providers used for the technical provision of the website may be located outside the European Union or the European Economic Area („EU“ or „EEA“). By entering into standard contractual clauses or within the framework of an adequacy decision, it is ensured that the third-country transfer with the engaged service providers complies with the European data protection level.
The use of Google Analytics involves a third-country transfer, as Google Inc.’s data centers are located outside the EU or EEA. Such a third-country transfer may result in your data being transmitted to a country that does not guarantee the same data protection standards as the EU or EEA.
