      In 1962, the Vossen family of entrepreneurs joined the beauty start-up “Dr. B. bio-medical cosmetics”. The chemist Dr. Michael Babor had developed a revolutionary cleanser for the skin, laying the foundation for the BABOR brand. Dr Leo Vossen turned the scientist’s idea into a global brand and brought the company to Aachen.

      THE STORY

      The daughter Jutta went to Vienna to do commercial and cosmetic training. With this know-how, she joined the company and in 1978. Jutta Kleine-Tebbe set up the „Application Technology“ department. A specialist department that tests every new product in a professional treatment, strengthening the importance of expert application. In the 1990s, her father retired due to illness. She pushed for internationalization. In 2000, she became Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, with her brother Leo P. Vossen supporting her on this board. Together, they led the company into the new millennium and accompanied the start into the digital age. In 2008 to 2010, she reorganized the management and thus brought fresh ideas into the company.


      In 2013, Dr. Martin Grablowitz, son of Jutta Kleine-Tebbe, and Isabel Bonacker, daughter of Leo P. Vossen, join the Board of Directors. They took over in 2014. Since then, the company has increasingly opened up to new areas of business. In addition to the brand BABOR, which has developed into an international multichannel beloved brand, private label developments are gaining importance.
